Venetia has worked in children’s publishing for more than 25 years, at Hodder & Stoughton, Simon & Schuster and Macmillan in the UK. She has edited and published many award-winning and bestselling titles for children and young adults, including books by Roddy Doyle, Darren Shan and Chris O’Dowd.

She joined Gill Books in 2022 as associate publisher for the children’s list, where she commissions and acquires fiction, non-fiction and picture books for children and young adults. Recent successes include Milly McCarthy is a Complete Catastrophe by Leona Forde and Karen Harte, Sam Blake’s Something Terrible Happened Last Night, Peter Donnelly’s The President’s Dog and Nina Carberry’s Ride to the Rescue.
