The Dublin Book Festival is back - and we have tickets to give away!

The Dublin Book Festival is one of Ireland’s most successful and vibrant book festivals. Running from 13th - 16th November, the Festival showcases Irish published books and their authors, with a focus on the creative spirit and personality behind best-selling titles and the most successful publishing houses.

Gill Books are proud to be part of the Festival with three of our authors presenting their recent books, and our own Nicki Howard taking part in a discussion panel on book publishing in Ireland. We also have a few pairs of FREE tickets to give away!

Journalist and author Dave Kenny will be in conversation with Dermot Bannon, host of RTÉ’s Room To Improve and author of Love Your Space: Secrets to a Successful Space; Francis Brennan, co-host of RTÉ’s At Your Service, and author of It’s the Little Things: Francis Brennan’s Guide to Life; journalists Sinead Crowley and John Kelly; and writers Alice Taylor and Niall Williams.

If you’re interested in finding out how to impress publishers and agents, then join our two panels for an afternoon of expert advice about best practice when submitting your work. Gill Books Director Nicki Howard will be joined by Gráinne Clear, publishing manager at Little Island Books; Sarah Davis-Goff, co-founder of Tramp Press; Polly Nolan of Greenhouse Literary Agency, London; Peter O’Connell, publicity and marketing expert; Vanessa Fox-O’Loughlin, Ireland’s leading literary talent scout, publishing consultant from The Inkwell Group and Writing.ie and Sallyanne Sweeney, literary agent with Mulcahy Associates in London.

The Irish Who Went to War – WW1 Turtle Bunbury In Conversation with Myles Dungan
Sunday 16 November, from 2.00pm – 3.00pm
Turtle Bunbury, co-presenter of RTÉ’s Genealogy Roadshow, is one of Ireland’s most prolific historians and co-founder of the History Festival of Ireland. His latest book, The Glorious Madness – Tales of the Irish & the Great War tells the story of the Irish who served in World War One and how their lives were affected by the war. He will be speaking with Myles Dungan, presenter of The History Show on RTÉ Radio and author of numerous books on Irish and American history.
