In their third book with Gill Books, the women of the ICA are back sharing more recipe but now also words of wisdom passed on by generations of Irish mammies, grannies, aunties, sisters and friends. These recipes and reflections are designed to inspire and comfort, whether you are having a good day, a bad day, a busy day or a quiet day.

It is said that ‘where there is tea there is hope’ and no day would be complete without a pause for a kind word and a cuppa shared between friends and colleagues.

In this fantastic new book, the women of the ICA give you their favourite old-fashioned recipes for scones, cakes, breads and more as well as lines they love from poetry, prayer, quotes and sayings. Some are uplifting and motivational, others sentimental and nostalgic – all make you pause for a moment and think.

The ICA was founded in May 1910 with the aim ‘to improve the standard of life in rural Ireland through education and co-operative effort’. Today the ICA has 700 local Guilds throughout Ireland. They continue to offer support and fun as well as opportunities to make friends, learn new skills and contribute to the wider community.

Previous ICA books include The ICA Cookbook and The ICA Book of Home and Family. Both were bestsellers and shortlisted for Irish Book Awards.
