Jamie’s favourite part about working for Gill Books is spending his days surrounded by people as passionate about books and reading as he is. Travelling throughout Ireland, meeting with independent bookshop owners and buyers, he loves connecting Gill’s authors with as many booksellers as possible, while passing on the passion and excitement that the Gill team feels about forthcoming titles.
Jamie has worked in the Irish publishing industry for almost six years. Previous to that, he spent six years in the Cork City Libraries service. He has an MFA and MA in Creative Writing from University College Dublin and a BA in English Literature and History of Art from University College Cork. He writes short fiction and has been shortlisted for the Maeve Binchy Travel Award and the Sky Arts Futures Fund, and longlisted for the BBC Radio 4 short story competition, Opening Lines.
