Pigín of Howth
Book and CD Edition
By Kathleen Watkins Illustrated by Margaret Anne Suggs

Pigín of Howth was the first picture book from the much-loved Kathleen Watkins, beautifully brought to life through Margaret Anne Suggs' detailed illustrations.

Now, the first voice ever to be heard on RTÉ (Kathleen was RTÉ's first continuity announcer), reads these charming stories aloud for you to enjoy with the young child in your life.

These stories first came into the world when Kathleen made them up for her first grandchild, Cian. Now, get ready to enjoy her telling them to you.

THE AUTHOR
Kathleen Watkins was a well-known harpist and folk singer when she became the first continuity announcer to appear on screen on Telefís Éireann's launch night in 1960. She married the broadcaster Gay Byrne and lived for many years in Howth where the Pigín stories are set.

Margaret Anne Suggs was born and raised in the American deep South, but later moved to Dublin, Ireland to pursue her Master's Degree at the National College of Art and Design. When she is not drawing, painting and making things, she teaches as a lecturer in the Illustration department at Ballyfermot College of Further Education where she founded the Illustration course. She lives in County Dublin, near the sea with her husband, sons and cat.
