A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative, confident and talented Publicity and Sales Executive to create and execute publicity campaigns for a wide variety of titles, and to deliver sales via a number of key channels. As such, you will divide your time between the Marketing and Communications department and the Sales department.
Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will brainstorm and put in place creative publicity strategies; schedule print, broadcast and online coverage for authors; and organise book signings and author events nationwide. Under the direction of the Sales Manager, you will brainstorm and put in place effective sales strategies; win orders and display for our titles; and pitch for promotional opportunities.
You will have a flair for copywriting and storytelling as you build original ideas into compelling propositions, and you will be confident and effective at pitching these ideas to the media and key accounts. You will build on your own network of contacts and develop long-term relationships with the media and key accounts. You will be excited by our authors and their stories and have a passion for connecting them with as wide an audience as possible. Knowing how your role fits into the wider Gill Books business, you will continually research and measure the effectiveness of your efforts, prioritising the areas of highest return.
Your highly organised, calm-under-pressure demeanour will enable you to prioritise and juggle demands simultaneously. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to champion every one of our authors and books, as well as the Gill Books brand, and keep all stakeholders fully apprised of publicity and sales activities while looping back your learnings to the rest of the team.
One to two years’ PR and/or sales experience and knowledge of the publishing industry will be an advantage.
