WE'RE HIRING: Marketing Executive (Content and Communities) (CLOSED)

08-02-2016 10:30

Marketing Executive (Content and Communities)

Full-time, permanent position

Gill Books publishes an eclectic list of bestselling and award-winning books from current affairs to history, biography to lifestyle. In collaboration with some of Ireland’s best writers, brands and a network of creative talents, Gill Books builds on a 160-year heritage whilst looking excitedly to the future.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative, confident and talented Marketing Executive to work with Gill Books. Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will work to create and deliver engaging, relevant content about our authors and books to our readers – how and when they want it.

With a focus on digital marketing, you will be excited to work together with the small team that brings our books into the world and particularly about your role in bringing our books to the attention of the right audiences. You will figure out the best way to share our stories and bring our books to life, developing an understanding of the Gill Books brand voice and promoting it consistently and responsibly along the way. You will grow our online visibility, analysing your efforts and feeding insights back to the sales and marketing teams, helping to identify new channels and audiences for our books.

A highly organised, confident self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative, you will create the digital content plan for our books and brand across all relevant channels and deliver that plan on time and on budget. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our website and social media channels; for writing, commissioning and uploading content; and for managing and growing our databases. You will ensure all content is regulatory-compliant and will keep up-to-date with data protection laws, managing customer data in line with latest guidelines.

You will have exceptional communication skills, building relationships with key social media influencers. Dynamic and forward-thinking, you will be aware of and genuinely interested in current and emerging digital trends. You will have excellent copywriting and editing skills, an eye for design, and experience with analytics and reporting on campaign metrics.

At least one year’s experience in digital marketing with a proven track record for engaging online audiences plus an interest in books, reading and the publishing industry will be an advantage.

Closing date: Friday 19 February 2016

To make an application, please email dmarsh@gill.ie. In addition to a CV, applicants should include a cover letter, explaining the opportunities they believe this position will hold, together with examples of relevant experience in the skills outlined above.
