WE'RE HIRING: Content and Social Media Executive (CLOSED)

11-08-2015 11:00

Content and Social Media Executive (Part-time: 15 hours per week, 4-month fixed-term contract)

Gill Books publishes an eclectic list of bestselling and award-winning non-fiction from current affairs to history, biography to lifestyle. In collaboration with some of Ireland’s best writers, brands and a network of creative talents, Gill Books builds on a 150-year heritage whilst looking excitedly to the future.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative, confident and talented Content and Social Media Executive to work with Gill Books in the run-up to the critical Christmas period. Under the direction of the Communications Manager, you will work to create and deliver engaging, interesting and useful content that promotes our products, authors and brand. You will be excited to work together with the small team that brings our books into the world and particularly about your role in bringing our books to the attention of the right audiences. You will develop an understanding of the Gill Books brand voice and promote it consistently and responsibly.

A highly organised, confident self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative, you will advise on digital strategy and devise the content calendar for Gill Books across our website, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram) and email marketing campaigns. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all of our social media channels, our website and CRM databases and will have experience with social media management tools such as Hootsuite and TweetDeck.

You will have an understanding of the basic principles of SEO, SEM, PPC, Facebook Advertising, Twitter Ads, Google Ads, etc., and will grow our online visibility using SEO techniques and online advertising, analysing your efforts and feeding insights back to the Marketing team.

You will have exceptional communication skills, building relationships with key social media influencers and writing and editing content for websites, newsletters, social media channels and blogs. You will ensure all content is regulatory-compliant and will keep up-to-date with data protection laws, managing customer data in line with latest guidelines.

A digital marketing qualification plus at least one year’s relevant experience and an interest in books and the publishing industry will be an advantage.

Closing date: Friday 21 August 2015

To make an application, please email tdaly@gill.ie. In addition to a CV, applicants should include a cover letter, explaining the opportunities they believe this position will hold, together with examples of relevant experience in the skills outlined above.
