In America: Tales from Trump Country

You know why people didn’t vote for Donald Trump – now find out why some people did.

As RTÉ’s Washington Correspondent, Caitríona Perry has earned a reputation as a reliable source of truth as we try to make sense of the maelstrom of shocking headlines emanating from Trump’s America. In her first book In America, she goes beyond the news reports and delves into the American heartland where she witnessed the rise of Trump at first hand.

Bringing to the table the voices of those who voted for Trump, Hillary Clinton’s so-called ‘basket of deplorables’, the ones whose opinions didn’t coalesce with acceptable mainstream discourse, Caitríona Perry reveals just what is really happening in America right now.

Journalist and entrepreneur Mark Little launched In America in Cliff Town House on Wednesday 1 November to a full house of Caitríona’s family, friends and colleagues including Ryan Tubridy and Keelin Shanley, with whom Caitríona will present the RTÉ Six One News with starting in January. Check out the photographs from the launch over on our Facebook page.

Keep up to date with Caitríona on Twitter for all the latest news. You can pick up your copy of In America online on our website, Eason, Dubray, Amazon and in all good bookshops nationwide.
