Can you trust what you are eating? Seminars with Dr John McKenna in Dublin and Galway

30-01-2014 09:45

With recent reports placing sugar in the same category as alcohol and tobacco when it comes to damaging our health and nutritionists, dieticians and doctors all warning of the dangers of hidden sugars in seemingly healthy foods, many of us are increasingly confused about what constitutes good food. Dr John McKenna will address this topic in two seminars in Dublin and Galway next week, based on his recently published and timely book, Good Food: Can You Trust What You Are Eating?

His talks will set out the cornerstone for healthy eating, giving examples of nutrient rich diets and explaining why they are so good. Dr McKenna will analyse the damage food processing does and will show you how to reduce toxins in your diet, how to change shopping and eating habits and show examples of good and bad preparation of basic meals.

He says ‘My reason for giving this talk is to protect you and your family by explaining in simple language what has gone wrong and how to fix it. Come and learn what good food actually means. Having treated people for gut problems and food intolerances for over 25 years, with outstanding results, I have seen that although we are all obsessed with eating, cooking and dieting, most people know remarkably little about where their food comes from. What’s even more important is that most people are not aware of the pivotal role that food plays in their health.’

The talk is not to be missed as it will cover some critical issues such as:

- the link between emotion and food
- why the 5-a-day slogan does not work

- why food allergies are becoming more common
- why fat is the most important part of the diet.
- why the food pyramid is leading people astray
- what happened in 1974 to cause the obesity epidemic

Details of seminars:

5th February 2014 (Wed), Meyrick Hotel, Galway, 7.30pm - 9.30 pm
6th February 2014 (Thu), Stillorgan Park Hotel, Dublin, 7.30pm - 9.30 pm

Tickets: €35.00, available from www.seminars.ie
